Rising up to meet the demands of Melbourne’s ever-growing population and property potential, The Mason Apartments on Melbourne’s Lygon Street is an imposing 11-floor development.
A distinctive façade combines post-tension concrete slabs, precast panelling and glazed balustrade sections, creating a network of bright, clean lines extending across the multiple levels. Custom fabricated aluminium battens run up the Western frontage and into the leafy footpath canopy.
Clever planning was essential in overcoming many significant challenges to the project’s successful completion. Contaminated on-site landfill, high-voltage tram lines and morning traffic clearways meant careful coordination with local Council and efficient neighbourhood communication was a must.
Standing tall at a full two storeys higher than any other building in the area, the rooftop decking makes the most of the structure’s impressive height, providing excellent views of the CBD.
