Inspired by mid-century émigré architecture, Station Street draws on the complementary worlds of art and fashion. With an enviable proximity to the world-famous Caulfield Racecourse and Reserve, this unconventional development reflects the location’s colourful and vibrant ambience.
With more than four levels of apartments and numerous balconies, composite clad pods were installed to maximise living space and achieve the desired aesthetic. Here, the structure’s bold exterior proved a triumph despite the challenges associated with the pods’ tight radius.
In prioritising durability and the need for a long-lasting quality finish, a number of innovative formwork solutions were investigated, before settling on a combination of Alpolic Aluminium Composite Panelling. Anchored by the SBS “Smart Hob” system, this marriage of progressive materials along with techniques adapted for more space-age ambitions delivered a result beyond expectation.
